Understanding the postage stamp as a symbol of international communication and cultural identity, Greetings From Latent Space is a visual exploration of AI-generated stamps and postcards.

This project highlights the symbolic power of postage stamps, which have historically depicted local flora, fauna, landmarks, and cultural icons, serving as miniature representations of a nation's identity.

Using a custom dataset filled with stamps from all over the world, our AI model produces stamps that do not reflect a single country's distinctive features. Instead, these stamps are a fascinating blend of various cultures and time periods, capturing the essence of global diversity through visual storytelling.

The stamps are complemented by postcards featuring AI-generated graphics, which were curated, edited and recomposed.

At the same time Greetings From Latent Space takes a rather critical perspective and questions the worth of collectable items, such as the postage stamp, in times of AI and also features postcards that appear to be written by an entity from latent space, reflecting the challenges lying ahead and encouraging us to conquer them.
